Welcome to Mountain Movement Dance Collective

Where we take dance education as serious as skiing

At Mountain Movement we strive to be more than just another after school activity but rather a place where our students come to develop their creativity, athletisism and character year after year. Our instructors spend time and energy connecting with each student on a deeper level to build trust and understanding so that each one of them gets their individual needs met. We get that everyone may dance for different reasons and at different commitment levels but at the end of the day we hope they all leave feeling as though they have been truly seen, challenged and supported.

We believe that through dance education we can teach valuable life skills both physically and mentally:

  • Accountability In dance there is no bench full of players ready to take your place if you’re not up for it. You are part of a team where each dancer is needed to give the best performance possible. The success of the dance is dependant on everyone contributing their best efforts throughout the year.

  • Personal Responsibility Your dance teachers are there to guide and advise you, but ultimately, it is up to you to set and meet your personal goals. As a dance student, you will quickly learn that you are responsible for your own success in the studio, and you become empowered to make that success a reality.

  • Persistence Dancing is hard. You have to work at it, spending hours in the studio perfecting your craft. You must practice simple and mundane elements over and over again before you can move on to the more exciting tricks and choreography.

We believe our studio culture is top notch.

  • Facility Our studio is the real deal with sprung floors, full sized mirrors, stadium sound system and coming new this year a student lounge!

  • Mentorship Because we have students of all ages we are one big family. We often have older students come into the younger kids classes to help out, perform / be an audience or share an important lesson they have learned.

  • Inclusiveness You LOVE dance, we get it, we love it to! It’s a beautiful thing to be surrounded by “your people” we don’t have to be best friends but by having this uniting passion we are all able to relate and connect with our fellow dancers.
